Offline Blogging

Are you using an offline blog editor?  I do.  And so far, from all the offline blogging tool that I have used, Windows Live Writer is the best — and it has to come from Microsoft ^^.  The Windows Live Writer is still in its beta stage but already looks promising.  It will let you blog offline, and get this — it lets you blog just like you were in your page.  Well not exactly a replica of your page but near enough (for me).  And then it will let you preview your blog as if it is already posted in your blog without going online.

Aside from that, this tool has a support for plugins.  A built in plugin lets you insert a map (US only).  I haven’t exactly tried the plugins yet because I like it already as it is.

One more thing that I like about this tool is that, if your blog host supports image uploads like wordpress.com, then Windows Live Writer can do it automatically for you when you publish your masterpiece!

So if you are a sort of person who always goes offline due to personal or work-related activities and you always bring your handy laptop with you, this could be the tool that will let you post your ideas without letting your readers wait too much!  Have fun blogging!

  3. Flock? The social web browser? Haven’t tried that ^^. I am almost always online so I use online RSS readers e.g. Google Reader, iGoogle to be exact. So I just need the offline blogging tool whenever I want to sneak in some blog notes on a meeting, or outside. Anyway thanks for that, I will try Flock in the near future definitely! ^^.

By the way nightfox, do I know you from somewhere? Sorry for my lousy memory. Tumatanda na e
