Mind Over Matter
Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
– Jack Benny
Another year had passed, another year older. It's not that I mind getting older. In fact I am quite happy about it! [Don't get me wrong, I am still very young, 20s actually.] I have so many friends and acquaintances, my wallet nearly went bankrupt just to treat them out. And today isn't the end of it as I have a few groups left to meet within the week. It was so much fun having them around! They always remind me how much I have improved from a loner, pessimistic boy during my younger years, to a very friendly, high spirited me! That is if you all agree with me of course [for those who knew me for a long time] hehehe!.
I didn't exactly celebrated my birthday the way anyone around my age would. There was no party nor dine outs. It was an ordinary office day, where I work and go to a client and the office. To be more specific, I conducted a walkthrough on a project for my favorite client and went back to the office to review a document and made some estimations on a new project. But what made this birthday all that special is that I was with my son the whole time. Yes he may have butted in some of my conversations with team members or even prevented me from finishing my tasks at hand, he did provide some entertainment in some way and made me feel special. He will always be my very special buddy.
My past few years had been very colorful, the colors ranging from dark and gloomy ones to bright and bubbly. I will treasure all those experiences weather good or bad. After all, I am a survivor of so many emotional battles. The scars will always be there to remind me that I am stronger than ever! I think my life's story can qualify to one of those primetime dramas that feature real events. What do you think? hehehe!
I have come to an acceptance that my life will be filled with so many challenges. Being a single father, having no father, the eldest son, and a project manager do add some weight to what I will be carrying throughout my life. But what the heck, challenges are good! BRING IT ON!
